Custom dome and stock domes

Optical domes is composed by two parallel spherical optical surfaces, it can protect electronic sensors or detectors without sacrificing field of view. Typically optical dome offer both high transmission as well as durability and it is the lead element in an optical system.

At CLZ Precision Optics , we specialize in manufacturing glass optical Domes from customer supplied designs and we have lots of specs for the optical dome in our stock.

Custom domes and stock domes have different advantages.

The custom domes is well matched with the customer's design, but it will be more expensive.

Most of stock dome is extra products, it will be cheaper than custom domes. Even there is no stock, the cost of tooling can be saved due to the previous production.

Manufacturing Capability for custom dome:

1. Material: Optical Glass (Shott BK7/BK10/BK5,Color glass or others), Fused Silica, Silicon, Sapphire
2. Diameter Rang: 10mm~120mm
3. Thinest thickness: 1mm (for the small dome)
4. TIR: 0.01mm best for diameter less than 30mm, 0.02mm best for diameter less than 60mm. General accuracy: 0.05mm, 0.1mm
5. Surface Quality: 40-20
