Knight Optical's Achromatic Doublets for Colposcopes | |
08 Feb 2018 Knight Optical offer a range of Stock Achromatic Doublet Lenses for use within colposcopy. Colposcopes are a type of endoscope used in a medical diagnostic procedure whereby a magnified view of the vulva, vagina and cervix is formed. This allows for biopsies to be performed which helps to screen for cervical cancer. Within colposcopes are an array of optical components which include; singlet and doublet lenses to help create this magnifying system. With endoscopic systems which only incorporate singlet lenses, there may be a blurring of the image caused by chromatic aberration. Conversely with systems which integrate Achromatic Doublets, these help to correct for chromatic aberration. This is when different wavelengths of light refract at different rates. The doublet lens helps to correct this by facilitating the focusing of the light to the same point. Knight Optical doublet lenses can help improve colposcopes and other endoscopic systems to ensure the highest quality resulting image. Knight Optical can supply competitive quotes for custom positive and negative achromatic doublets. These achromatic doublets can also come in the form of aspheric lenses. We hold a large inventory of Achromatic Doublet Lenses.
