Fuelled by Adoption of the First and Only Comprehensive LASIK Treatment for Astigmatism Approved by the FDA.
MUNICH, GERMANY--(Marketwire - March 15, 2011) - Technolas Perfect Vision GmbH (TPV), a laser company at the forefront of providing advanced ophthalmic laser treatments for LASIK and cataract surgery, today announced US same store LASIK procedure growth of 6.0% in 2010 compared with the prior year. For comparison US LASIK procedures reportedly declined by -0.8% nationally during 2010 according to the industry market research firm Market Scope.(1)
Technolas Perfect Vision's strong procedure growth is directly attributed to adoption of its Advanced Control Eyetracking (ACE™) Technology, which is ideally suited for treating astigmatism, by LASIK surgeons across the county. These "Certified Astigmatism Treatment Centers" achieved an 11.3% increase in same store procedures in 2010, which greatly outpaced growth in overall LASIK procedures in the US. This technology is only available in the US on the Technolas LASIK system.
