Bristol Instruments Now Offers a Multi-Laser PID Controller

Date Announced: 07 May 2024

VICTOR, NEW YORK May 7, 2024 – Bristol Instruments is excited to announce the new MLC Series Multi-Laser PID Controller that can electronically control the frequency output of multiple lasers. This system, combined with a Laser Wavelength Meter and a Fiber-Optic Switch, provides a complete laser frequency stabilization system.

The MLC Series Multi-Laser PID Controller is optimized to work with and take full advantage of our new 872 Series High-Resolution Laser Wavelength Meter. With a frequency resolution as high as 200 kHz, very small frequency deviations of up to 8 lasers can be detected and stabilized.

“The new Multi-Laser PID Controller is an essential component to stabilize the frequency of multiple lasers,” said Nicolas George, Scientific Product Manager at Bristol Instruments. “It will benefit scientists and engineers involved in experiments that require active regulation of laser frequency such as laser cooling and trapping.”

About Bristol Instruments

Since its founding in 2005, Bristol Instruments has solely focused on designing, manufacturing, and marketing precision instruments using its expertise in optical interferometry. Bristol’s flagship products accurately characterize the wavelength and spectral properties of lasers and are used by scientists and engineers at universities and government and industrial laboratories. They are also used for the development and production testing of laser transmitters used in optical fiber communications. In addition, Bristol Instruments provides interferometer-based products to reliably measure critical physical dimensions of materials such as optical assemblies, medical tubing, and ophthalmic products.
