New solutions for fast and accurate lens quality control - from Phasics

Date Announced: 31 Dec 2015

Title: New solutions for fast and accurate lens quality control - from Phasics

Phasics measurement benches are efficient and cost-effective solutions for lens and assembly quality control from UV to far IR. They all benefit from Phasics exclusive wavefront sensing technology that achieves high measurement throughput with no compromise on accuracy.

To build functional and robust solutions for each application, Phasics smartly combines one of its wavefront sensors from UV to far IR to dedicated opto-mechanical and software modules. Each instrument design is then optimized to suit customers’ operational requirement, either for R&D, production or benchmark purpose.

  •  Fast WFE measurement in production line: alignment is fast and highly reproducible thanks to the optical set-up without relay optics or null lens. This set-up is possible with high quality collimated source up to 100 mm diameter.
  • Defective sub-assembly detection before integration: Phasics technology enables comparing strongly aberrated optics to their design. Non-compliant sub-assemblies are identified before integration, which improves the overall productivity. Such bench reaches an absolute precision below 100 nm PtV for high NA optics (F/2) having aberrations up to 30 µm.
  • Fisheye optics benchmark before integration: the same compact bench delivers off-axis MTF and wavefront error from -90° to + 90° at several wavelengths (450 to 1100 nm). Its automation ensures repeatable and impartial comparison, while Phasics technology achromaticity and high resolution ensure accurate results. The bench achieves 0.5% MTF repeatability (as per ISO 5725 definition) across the whole field.
  • Complete characterization for R&D: both MTF and aberrations are provided in a single instantaneous measurement. Phasics software modules then offer all necessary features to analyze this measurement: pupil adjustment, Zernike-based filtering, comparison to design, MTF along any orientation…
  • Cost-effective and compact solution in the infrared: Phasics offers infrared wavefront sensors from 0.9 to 14µm. Their purchase is economical as compared to interferometers and their ease of use increases productivity. In particular the SID4 DWIR that covers both bands II and III is a very competitive solution for infrared lens testing.
