Psoriasis laser gets FDA approval

The US Food & Drug Administration (FDA) has approved a new laser treatment for the skin disorder psoriasis, according to the manufacturer, Candela.

The company plans to start marketing the system, which is currently undergoing clinical trials, this summer. Gerard Puorro, Candela's president, said: "Following acne, psoriasis is the second most common skin disorder in the US. The market is underserved by current treatments."
