3M buys more business from Polaroid

17 Jun 2002

Polaroid of Cambridge, MA, has sold its Technical Polarizer and Display Films business to 3M's Optical Systems Division of St Paul, MN.

The business will continue to operate from its current site in Norwood, MA, and the companies say that a significant number of the 85 employees will be offered positions with 3M.

At the end of last year, 3M's Optical Systems Division bought Polaroid's computer monitor anti-glare filter business. Over the past year, Polaroid has divested most of its non-imaging business activities (see Polaroid finds buyer for Laser Diodes and Polaroid sells another subsidiary company).
