The figure shows the intensity profile of an Airy laser beam and how it evolves when the beam propagates. The beam consists of a bright main spot (red colour) and a number of side lobes. From top to bottom, the main spot moves towards the right bottom corner showing that the Airy laser beam indeed bends while propagating.

The figure contains our own data; however, it should be mentioned that the Airy beam was predicted and first realized by a US team (G. A. Siviloglou & D. N. Christodoulides, University of Central Florida, Orlando, Florida).
