They are ideal laser diodes for applications in coherent transmission technology, remote sensing systems, and distributed fibre-optic temperature and stress sensors. They are also used in systems for the fibre-optic detection of sonic and seismic waves, high-resolution spectroscopy, LIDAR systems, and other fibre-optic high-precision measurement technology systems.
