MONTFORT Laser’s uniquely compact Nd:YAG with nanosecond pulses up to 100mJ

MONTFORT Laser’s M-NANO product series is now available with pulses up to 100 mJ and less than 10 ns from an extremely small base because of the patent pending diode-pumping scheme. In the all-in-one system the controller and laser diode driver electronics are included in one laser housing and has a base of 132 mm x 140 mm with a total system weight of less than 2 kg. The laser can be integrated in the user’s setup and just needs to be mounted onto a sub-mount capable of taking the head away during operation. The required space of the laser head module inside measures only 120 mm x 56 mm and weighs not more than 0.65 kg, because of the unrivaled new diode pumping and laser scheme optimized for compactness.

Thanks to the compactness and the low weight, applications are possible which can not be achieved with existing flash-lamp pumped technologies, including portable and other applications with critical space and/or weight constraints. Applications of these compact laser sources include – besides scientific applications – laser analytics, LIBS (Laser-induced break-down spectroscopy), optical component damage testing, PIV (Particle image velocimetry), LIDAR (Light detection and ranging), etc. Applications include analytics, LIBS, Defense, LIDAR, nonlinear optics, optical damage testing, amplification, photo acoustics. etc.

Unlike existing flash-lamp-pumped Nd:YAG technologies, this laser is diode-pumped with the conductively cooled laser diode included in the laser head. This special set-up ernables not only the compactness but also lower electrical power consumption, lower weight, maintenance-free operation and improved beam quality, divergence and focussability with the result in advanced application results.
