24 Jul 2014 GLONIK has released a new 3D optical microscope that allows users to freely change their views, not only vertical view but also oblique views at arbitrary angles.
GLONIK's patented technology provides a method that forms an image at a fixed position while the objective lens moves around the target object being observed. Users can control the polar and azimuthal angle so that they can see the obejct at any angle within the predetermined solid angle range, or 30°X360° for current model. Users don't have to painstakingly tilt the object or the microscope(thus their head) to see the sides of the object. As well, there is no need for extra adapters or special jigs.
There are many fields where our 3D microscope can be beneficial, in fact, any field in which conventional low magnification microscopes are used: industry(inspection of electrical/mechanical parts, sidewall inspection of objects, MEMS, etc), biomedical(microsurgery, hair transplantation, inspection of small insects, etc), R&D, education, jewelry and so on. Our microscope may be an irreplaceable choice for cases where the objects cannot be moved or are difficult to handle, that is, the objects to be obliquely observed are heavy, human(or animal), small and fragile, or even gel or liquid. It is especially useful when you need to manipulate the objects while you are observing as the microscope provides a good environment for hand-eye coordination. With movable digital microscopes, you may feel uncomfortable and have difficulty in manipulating objects because you have to see the monitor, that is, the eye and hand movement do not coincide.
If you have a camera and image based 3D scanning software, use our microscope as a 3D scanner. Because our 3D optical microscope has inherent scanning capability, it is easy to get multiple images seen from different angles. Even though our microscope is designed for observation purposes, you may be able to get decent 3D models.
