19 Mar 2014 LASER COMPONENTS produces challenging optical coatings using ion beam sputtering technology (IBS). Until now this technology has only been used in the Vis and NIR spectral range because the absorption of existing coatings was too high for UV wavelengths.
A new material means that this high tech coating can now be offered for UV wavelengths starting at 260nm. The very compact and homogeneous layers not only yield the highest damage thresholds but also result in driftless and low-dispersion coatings.
