11 Apr 2013 Hamamatsu introduce a new range of image sensors designed for high-precision TOF (time-of-flight) distance measurements. The S11961-01CR is the industry’s first linear image sensor for TOF distance measurement, whilst the S11962-01CR and S11963-01CR are area image sensors for 3D distance measuring cameras.
These new sensors utilize a high-speed charge transfer structure, that when used with a pulse modulated light source, measures the phase difference between emitted and detected light. They are ideally suited to a wide range of applications including; automotive systems for detecting people or obstacles, shape detection and many more.
