31 May 2011 MÖLLER-WEDEL OPTICAL GmbH announces the next step for the successful GONIOMAT goniometer series: The GONIOMAT A/A-HR goniometers The GONIOMAT A/A-HR goniometers are capable of measuring angles of prisms, polygons and wedges with an accuracy of up to 0.7 arcsec (GONIOMAT A) or 0.4 arcsec (GONIOMAT A-HR) respectively. Pyramidal angles can be measured with an accuracy of up to 1.0 arcsec due to the roundtable with air bearings. For quick adaptation to different specimen heights three exchangeable measurement tables are provided. Being driven by a stepping motor the system is able to perform these measurements fully autonomously without user intervention. To enable this the system is able to distinguish between relevant reflected images from the outer surfaces and internal reflected images. This is achieved by using sophisticated ray-tracing analysis on the measurement data which is unique for devices of this kind. Like all goniometers of the GONIOMAT series the system is accompanied by the powerful software GONIOMATIK which assists the operating personnel by verifying and visualizing the measurement process. It is able to generate extensive measurement reports and performs Pass-Fail Testing according to given specifications. An intuitive user interface covers all aspects of the software and allows the measurement to be carried out by basically any person.
