Laser machine software SCA launched

29 Mar 2011

Since 2004 Workshop of Photonics (the R&D trade mark of Altechna) develops its original laser micromachining software solutions. At the beginning dedicated for sapphire scribing, SCA revealed to an universal and very flexible tool for controlling and automating wide range of components of a laser workstation.

The SCA laser micromachining software product family is distinguished among other existing laser software solutions by the key working principle - it controls positioning stages by directly addressing the command libraries of the positioning stages software (no G-code conversion). Historically the SCA software has been developed based on Aerotech linear stages and controllers, now it controls wide range of devices and integration of new/speciffic devices is available on request.

New users are capable of learning to use the software within couple of hours. This facilitates any micromachining task and makes it totally controllable and repeatable.

Main features of SCA professor:

* Directly controls Aerotech positioning equipment (no need of G-code)
* Supports .bmp, .plt and .dxf files
* Has a list of convenient algorithms and mathematical commands
* Synchronizes laser operation with positioning stages and galvo-scanners
* Integrated micro monitoring function
* 3D fabrication trajectory preview window
* Integrated process control
* Position synchronized output (PSO) operation

Additional features (integrated on request):
* Machine vision
* Control of interlocks
* Control of peripherals, such as pointer, joystick, LCD touch-screen UI

Applications:
* 3D direct laser writing
* 3D polymerization
* 3D laser prototyping
* Waveguide writing
* Fabrication of micro-fluidic devices
* Fabrication of artificial scaffolds
* Bragg grating writing
