MEGALux High Performance Interference Filters | |
08 Oct 2010 LASER COMPONENTS is pleased to announce a brand new range of high performance interference filters from Omega. The MEGALux optical coatings offer outstanding spectral characteristics on a wide range of substrate materials utilising state-of-the-art deposition technology, Dual Magnetron Reactive Sputtering (DMRS). Very durable, accurate and reproducible coatings are produced. Cut-on and cut-off variability is approximately 1nm. One of the biggest challenges is to offer a good out of band blocking whilst offering a high transmission. The MEGALux coating produces very high transmission as shown in Figure 1, which can often exceed 97%. In contrast, figure 2 shows the blocking as being on average >OD6 from 300-1000nm. When used with an ideal light source and detector a signal/noise ratio exceeding 10,000:1 is possible. MEGALux coatings are ideal for high specification and volume requirements where performance is critical.
