22 May 2008 The new Omicron range of narrow bandwidth, external cavity, temperature stabilised laser diodes.. ..offer users a rock solid centre wavelength, and opens many applications previously only achievable from narrow linewidth, but much larger solid state or gas lasers. Standard laser diodes have a much broader spectral response, and wavelength dependent devices such as acousto-optic deflectors are not compatible with their use. This results in systems which are only suitable for use in the laboratory, rather than in the field, for example in military applications, or in the manufacturing environment. |
