ROCHESTER, NY, April 8, 2024 - QED Technologies International, LLC today announced that after several months of an extensive executive search, Michael Mohammadi has been selected to succeed Andrew Kulawiec as the company’s new President and Chief Executive Officer. After 16 years working at the company, Andrew Kulawiec has announced his retirement effective April 17, 2024. Kulawiec will remain influential at QED as a member of the board of directors. Mohammadi will become President and CEO effective April 18, 2024.
“I’m excited to welcome Michael as QED Technologies’ new President and CEO.” Kulawiec said “Michael’s extensive insight and experience in the optics industry makes him the perfect candidate to lead the company through its next stage of growth.”
Mohammadi most recently served as Vice President of Global Sales and Business Development at Thorlabs where he led the launch and development of the company’s OEM Division. Previously, Michael held sales and business development positions at Andor Technology and Olympus America. Michael has a PhD in Medical Physiology/Neuroscience from the University of Maryland, Baltimore, a BS in Psychology from Wayne State University, and is an MBA Candidate at the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business
