Berthold Leibinger Stiftung announces its 2024 innovation prize for applied laser technology

Eberdingen-Hochdorf (Stuttgart) Germany -- The Berthold Leibinger Stiftung has announced the 13th call for applications and nominations of its innovation prize for applied laser technology and the application of laser light. Applications and nominations for the "Berthold Leibinger Innovationspreis’" will be accepted online until September 1, 2024. Information regarding the application or nomination process is available at www.leibinger-stiftung.de/laser-prize.

The biennial international prize is endowed with a total sum of 100,000 euros for the first, second and third prize. It is open to both individuals and project groups with innovations regarding the application or generation of laser light in any industry or field of technology, from laser light sources to process developments and devices.

The foundation now also accepts nominations for the ‘Berthold Leibinger Zukunftspreis’, awarded to a single excellent researcher for an outstanding contribution to applied laser technology. The prize is endowed with 50,000 euros. Candidates can only be nominated by scientific societies and groups, as well as professional associations that focus on lasers or photonics.

The prizewinners and all finalists will be celebrated in Ditzingen near Stuttgart at the eminent Berthold Leibinger Laser Awards Ceremony on Friday June 20, 2025, shortly before the opening of the LASER World of Photonics trade show and conferences in Munich.
