ZEISS Research Microscopy Solutions Jena / Rostock, Germany -- APEER and Arivis are coming together to better serve customers by consolidating hardware- and data-agnostic software under the brand ZEISS arivis. The changes will take place in phases over the coming year, starting in April 2023. Customers can continue to expect the same level of quality and support. The name ZEISS arivis will represent an expanded software product line that includes cloud and AI solutions. This step is consistent with the fact that arivis AG is formally becoming a ZEISS legal entity and its name is being changed to Carl Zeiss Microscopy Software Center Rostock GmbH.

A new name and a new look

Starting April 2023, arivis will be rebranded under the trusted ZEISS brand. Vision4D will become ZEISS arivis Pro. VisionVR will become ZEISS arivis Pro VR. VisionHub will become ZEISS arivis Hub. APEER will become ZEISS arivis Cloud. The AI technology will be referred to as the arivis AI Toolkit. The rebranding will occur in phases, starting with product renaming and the arivis website, and followed by other product experiences at later dates.

By taking this step, ZEISS is embracing the growing importance of AI-driven software for data analysis. These changes provide users with a consolidated product family containing advanced technologies that help them to extract and visualize relevant data more efficiently regardless of its complexity. Whatever the source and format of the image, the products are highly integrated and can be of benefit to users in academia and across industries.

“ZEISS continues to expand its product offering with innovative solutions, developed in-house or acquired in line with our customer-centric strategy,” says Dr. Michael Albiez, CEO of Carl Zeiss Microscopy GmbH. “We invite our customers to join us in this new chapter of hardware- and data-agnostic software under the ZEISS arivis name, which is already renowned for its image analysis technology excellence.”

Arivis AG becomes a 100% subsidiary of Carl Zeiss Microscopy GmbH

The new subsidiary will be called Carl Zeiss Microscopy Software Center Rostock GmbH. Christian Götze and Andreas Suchanek act as managing directors. Employees are working together to take collaboration to a new level, creating a single enhanced team for the product line that will continue to lead innovation.

“With the portfolio expansion, the integrated, scalable and hardware-agnostic ZEISS arivis platform will be even more competitive as it continues to help researchers gain reliable results with enhanced throughput, accelerated by cutting-edge AI technology”, says Andreas Suchanek, Managing Director, Carl Zeiss Microscopy Software Center Rostock GmbH.
