Date Announced: 27 Oct 2022
III-V Epi director, Professor Steven Beaumont, OBE, will be attending the National Quantum Technologies Showcase in November, held at the Queen Elizabeth II Centre in London, on 11th November 2022. His company, III-V Epi, specialises in the low volume and prototype manufacture of MBE and MOCVD, III-V, epitaxial structures, and already supplies many quantum applications. The Showcase is aimed at industry, academia, government, and investors and will profile some of the UK’s most exciting quantum companies and projects.
Professor Steven Beaumont said, “III-V Epi’s focus on fast turnaround, medium to low volume supply of MBE and MOCVD, epitaxial structures is ideally suited to quantum applications. They seldom require high, consumer-like volumes, making their manufacture a low priority through traditional channels. This is despite their mission-critical role in defence, security, and other sensitive markets. We can expedite manufacture for our customers, ensuring they bring new products to market in a timely manner.
“Since exhibiting last year, we have produced quantum devices for many industrial and academic customers, consolidating our position in the commercial, quantum technologies supply chain. These companies have also benefited from our specialist range of design, manufacture, test, metrology, and characterisation services.”
The UK is home to around half the quantum-based businesses in Europe; driven by a strong collaboration between academia and industry. These businesses operate in industries as diverse as automotive, healthcare, infrastructure, telecoms, datacoms, cybersecurity, additive manufacturing, and defence.
The Showcase is supported by Innovate UK, the KTN (Knowledge Transfer Network) and the Quantum Communications Hub.
