Date Announced: 28 Aug 2019
New office offers demonstrations of local application capabilities to potential and existing customers.
The recently rebranded global leader in laser technology Luxinar, previously Rofin-Sinar UK, has opened a new regional office near Hamburg, Germany.
The rebrand from Rofin-Sinar UK to Luxinar took effect from 25 June 2019, and marks a new chapter in the company’s 20-year history as a leading manufacturer of sealed carbon dioxide (CO2) lasers for industrial processing and marking. Luxinar operates from its purpose-built manufacturing facility in Kingston upon Hull, UK, and currently employs over 180 people – both in the UK and overseas.
Building on the growth the company has seen in recent years, Luxinar opened the doors of its new regional office in Hamburg on 28 August, 2019. CMR GmbH Directors Christian Zimmer and Dr Ralf Kogeler, owners of Luxinar, together with Managing Director Klaus Leitner, Finance Director Mitch Mead and Sales Director Andrew Chambers joined Regional General Manager Thorsten Föcking and his team in the celebrations. A number of German customers, partners and representatives of the chamber of commerce (IHK) were also invited to join in the festivities.
“This is a really exciting time for our company as we move into our next chapter, building on our heritage to drive further innovation in the laser industry as a proudly independent business. Although our name has changed, the core of our business remains the same,” remarks Klaus Leitner, Managing Director. “With our expanding installed base, opening this office in Germany allows us to provide further local customer support in addition to our established regional offices in Italy, China and South Korea.”
Thorsten Föcking and his team will be responsible for sales and technical support for the sealed CO2 laser portfolio in German-speaking countries Germany, Austria and Switzerland, including Benelux, as well as Scandinavia and Eastern Europe. In addition to sales and technical support, the Luxinar German office offers demonstrations of local application capabilities to potential and existing customers, and a warehouse of strategic stock for exchange purposes throughout Europe.
