April 4, 2019, TROY, MICHIGAN – In 1989, Contour Metrological & Manufacturing opened as a machine shop providing parts and metrology services. Over the past thirty years, it evolved into a leader in the global optics industry, now under a new name - CMM Optic.
Contour Metrological & Manufacturing became CMM Optic to more accurately describe its business of fabricating diamond turned mirrors and lenses, precision components, and optomechanical assemblies. The company is proud of its long history of highly regarded manufacturing capabilities, along with a reputation making challenging products for numerous industries including aerospace, defense, medical, semiconductor and commercial.
“The decision to dial in our brand and company direction is important as we execute our tactical and strategic goals over the next few years,” states Kevin McMahon, President/Owner. “The name CMM Optic allows us to more clearly convey what we offer and plan to add in the coming years. We are excited about this change and look forward to continuing our close working relationship with our customers under the new name.”
