Multiwave Photonics has entered into an agreement with its sister company MWTechnologies, and the following low power products, technologies and business, including relevant assets, have been transferred to MWTechnologies to enable the company to pursue the corresponding business opportunities on an exclusive basis.
- Single-Mode Fiber Laser Modules (SM, L)
- ASE Broadband and Narrowband Sources
- Er and Yb Optical Amplifiers
- Compact Laser Diode Driver
Founded in 2003, Multiwave Photonics (www.multiwavephotonics.com) is a well reputed manufacturer of optical fiber sources, with special emphasis to pulsed fiber lasers. The company have been addressing a broad market range with its full line of products, such as materials processing, LIDAR/LADAR, remote sensing, imaging and instrumentation.
José R. Salcedo, founder and majority shareholder of Multiwave Photonics, SA, stated “This transfer will allow the completion of the ongoing restructuring of Multiwave Photonics. From this moment on, Multiwave Photonics will become a contract R&D company focusing on high power fiber lasers and fiber-based devices. For the low power and single-mode fiber based module products, its previous manufacturing capabilities have been transferred to MW Technologies, and for the high power MOPA pulsed fiber laser products they have been transferred to Datalogic S.P.A. We are pleased to have concluded this process and we are certain that the former Multiwave module business will be in the best possible hands for the future.”
