Aesthetic laser firm decides to separate CEO and chairman roles.
HAYWARD, Calif., June 12, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Solta Medical, Inc. (SLTM), a global leader in the medical aesthetics market, today announced that its Board of Directors has elected Mark M. Sieczkarek as its Chairman. Mr. Sieczkarek has been a member of the Board of Directors since July 2006 and has served as lead director since January 2008.
He has more than 18 years of leadership experience in the medical device industry and served as President and CEO of Conceptus, Inc. from 2003 to 2011. Mr. Sieczkarek succeeds Stephen J. Fanning, who remains as President and Chief Executive Officer of Solta Medical.
"As part of our regular review of corporate governance and best practices, our Board of Directors has decided to separate the roles of Chairman and CEO," said Linda Graebner, Chairman of the Board's Nominating and Governance Committee.
"In electing Mark our Chairman, our shareholders will benefit from his previous public company experience as well as his seven years of service on Solta's Board of Directors. At the same time, we believe that this transition will enable Steve, our President and CEO, to focus on executing the plan to drive growth and returns from the Company's operations."
