| Clinicians in France say that Pixium's "PRIMA" wireless prosthesis has been safely implanted in the first five patients of its small-scale study, without compromising their residual peripheral vision. Intended to restore a basic level of central vision to sufferers of dry age-related macular degeneration (AMD), Pixium is hoping to begin a pivotal European trial of the technology next year.
