| Analysts at Solar Power Europe reported earlier this year that just over 300 GW of photovoltaic generating power had been deployed globally by the end of 2016. In the organization's optimistic scenario, that total could grow to nearly a terawatt by 2021, with SPIE plenary speaker Eicke Weber suggesting that a highly disruptive 3-5 TW could be in place by 2030.
