| The BAM laser interferometer measures the angle of each of Gaia’s two telescopes and is crucial for accurately measuring the 3-dimensional position of stars in our Milky Way. The measured angular sensitivity is 10 micro-Arc seconds while a stability of 0.5µas was expected, which required additional software for data correction. Photo: TNO/Fred Kamphues. |
