ALPhANOV organizing industrial laser meet in France

30 Apr 2014

Three-day French/English-speaking event considers applications of industrial lasers.

ALPhANOV, the Bordeaux, France-based technology center for the Route des Lasers competitiveness cluster, is co-organizing the JNPLI Congress – a conference on industrial laser processing running over July 1-3 in France. The partner organizer will be the cluster itself.

Organized under the authority of the Club Laser and Processes, the conference will be held at the Institut d’Optique d’Aquitaine, in Talence, near Bordeaux. The event theme is industrial laser processes and the three-day program is designed to provide an annual overview of the latest innovations and recently implemented processes in many applications.

The event will also offer opportunities to meet some of the key players working with this technology in the region. Presentations will also include speakers from companies across France and beyond, with a diverse panel encompassing wider Europe and South Africa. There will also be opportunities to visit the nearby Megajoule Laser and the booming fiber laser company Amplitude Systèmes.

ALPhANOV says that JNPLI – which will be simultaneously presented in French and English – will be an ideal opportunity for networking, whether at the conferences, workshops or associated social events. There will also be scientific and technical posters on show and exhibition space for interested companies. During the congress, the Young Researcher Award 2014 will be awarded for a thesis on the topic of industrial laser processes. The winner will receive a prize of €500 and free registration for the 2014 international ICALEO conference.

Program

Key participants and presenters on July 2 will be the African Laser Center describing “Lasers and applications in Africa: luxury or necessity?” and CNRS CELIA talking on “Lasers and Oral Medicine”. Other presenters include Laboratoire LP3, Laboratoire IPREM (“Microanalysis and imaging of trace elements by femtosecond laser ablation”), Irepa laser and Oxford Lasers.

The second conference day will see presentations from the likes of Teem Photonics, Fraunhofer ILT, GF Machining Solutions, Laser Zentrum Hannover, Laser Cheval, Amplitude Systèmes, Rofin Baasel, Eolite Systems and Trumpf.

The full program is available on the Alphanov website. On the evening of July 2, between the main two days of talks, the organizers will host a “regional evening” at Chateau Luchey-Halde including a visit to winemaker Henri Faivre, an exploration of his cellars, wine-tasting tutorial and dinner.
