Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands (left), officially opening a new Philips museum in Eindhoven with company CEO Frans van Houten in early April. She switched on the lights in the museum by fitting a wireless LED lamp in a light sculpture to illuminate it. The museum is on the site of the factory where founder Gerard Philips made his first incandescent light bulb, back in 1891. Credit: Royal Philips Electronics.
