Job Description

Job Summary

Intevac is seeking a self-motivated and energetic team player to fill the Product Engineer position in the Santa Clara Photonics facility. The candidate will be responsible for transitioning new products from development to production. Responsibilities include characterization, validation and documentation of new Manufacturing Processes along with utilizing Statistical Process Control (SPC) analysis for yield improvement and cost reduction. The candidate will also be responsible for continuous product improvement through failure analysis of components and ensuring all customer requirements are met.

Primary Job Duties

  • Supporting the transition of prototype and new products into Manufacturing
  • Tracking product characteristics and performance statistics to identify early yield limiters and drive yield improvement
  • Development and documentation of efficient manufacturing processes
  • Qualification and Validation of products to ensure customer acceptance
  • Troubleshooting and Failure Analysis of PCB's and components in a fast paced manufacturing environment
  • Provide customer support for quality concerns and improvement
  • Pursue creative solutions to improve product margins
  • Ensure product delivery schedules achieved

  • Performs other related duties as assigned
Job Requirements

Minimum Requirements

  • 2+ years experience in Manufacturing Engineering, Process Engineering or closely related field
  • BS in electrical or industrial engineering or engineering technology related field
  • Experience with oscilloscopes, signal generators, power supplies and other equipment necessary to troubleshoot PCB's and components such as the FPGA, microcontroller and various IC's
  • Experience with HSPICE, HDL and DFT methodology is preferred
  • Working knowledge programming in Python, C/C++, Matlab and Labview is preferred
  • Strong analytical and diagnostic skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • US citizenship required
