Laser Research, Development and Engineering Positions

Job Description

Electronics Engineer – Ann Arbor, MI: Design, simulation, and test of analog/digital circuits and software functions for control of IMRA’s cutting edge laser products.  PCB design and layout using tools such as Altium or Eagle.  BSEE/MSEE with 3-5+ years’ relevant experience.

Product Engineer – Ann Arbor, MI: Engineering of IMRA femtosecond fiber lasers for production. Prototype new laser products. Establish and improve assembly procedures for production. Optical and mechanical test of assemblies, as well as the complete product. Design improvement of products for manufacturability.  BS/MS Physics or Engineering with 1+ years of relevant experience

Postdoc/staff Scientist – Longmont, CO: contributes to optical clock, precision metrology and frequency comb research to work as member of multi-disciplinary research team at our Longmont, CO, research facility. Ph.D. in Physics, EE or Chemistry with preferably 1 – 3 years prior experience.

Development Engineer – Ann Arbor, MI:  Design and develop ultra-short pulse lasers and related products; Investigate new laser technology, early stage prototyping, design and engineering of fiber laser products.  Support existing fiber laser product for improvement and quality– PhD in Engineering or science with 3+ years of laser experience.

Opto-Mechanical Engineer – Ann Arbor, MI:  Design and develop fiber and free-space opto-mechanical components, package for fiber lasers; Leads opto-mechanical design review activities and transfer of design to manufacturing;  Creates engineering specs and develops production processes. – MS or PhD in Engineering or Science with 5+ years’ experience.

Application Engineer – Fremont, CA:  Develop new applications for fiber lasers; Provide input for new laser product development; Provide evaluations of laser prototypes; Plan and execute customer-requested feasibility testing; Work with collaborators in applications research; Participate in application marketing activities – MS or PhD with 3+ years’ experience.
