Although Germany retained its position as the largest single market for PV installations in 2011, that will almost certainly change this year as feed-in tariff support is cut. The UK market, which was virtually non-existent in 2010, jumped to nearly 1 GW last year thanks to generous central support that will soon disappear if the government's plans are enacted.
