The PV16 variable gain amplifier discriminator interfaces to Gigahertz detectors such as the Hamamatsu Hybrid photomultiplier with 300 microvolt sensitivity at 1 Gigahertz. The PV16 can accept pulses from PMTs, solid state detectors or with built-in bias, PIN diodes.
Hybrid detector power supplies, software, inverting/non-inverting transforme and accessories are available.
The PCOUNT G is a continuous or GATED 1 GHz/Channel photon counter that places photons into time-correlated bins when the external gate input is positive. Photon events are collected into a total of 4,194,304 nanosecond Time Correlated Photon Counting bins per channel in the USB output version, or into unlimited bins with a Computer DIO version. The external input gate width can be as short as two nanoseconds with the gate repetition rate above 200 Megahertz.
The PCOUNT G can have three channels of 1 GHz/second Time Correlated photon Counting (TCCP) with one additional channel for the fiducial marking of gate edges or high speed laser triggering. The gate intervals do not have to be the same width throughout a collection cycle and the gate can be monitored in the un-gated mode as well as the gated mode on the back of the device.
Each and every gate interval can be individually examined for single Time Correlated Photon events. The number of photons may be summed over any part of a gate or all of the gate times. The gate input level is 1.1V to 3.3V with an adjustable threshold.
The PCOUNT G hardware begins accepting photons continuously once triggered under software control. The trigger can be provided by an external SMA input, a push-button, or switch latch after a manual reset to synchronize channels The DIO board can take data at 375 Megabytes/second up to the 64 Gigabyte limit of computer memory.
The PCOUNT G is designed for positive edge detection of photons from the PV16 amplifier discriminator with 150 picosecond minimum photon widths.
The PCOUNT G back panel provides + and - input gate echos, gated GHz clock output, gated 125 MHz clock, and trigger indication.
