SAES Getters Group

In more than 80 years of activity, SAES getter solutions have been supporting innovation in several high-tech industries, spanning from large vacuum power tubes to miniaturized silicon-based microelectronics, micromechanical and optoelectronics devices

SAES Industrial: Advanced Material Solutions for Optoelectronics

SAES Industrial provides advanced getter and encapsulation solutions for optoelectronics and photonics, ensuring the reliability and longevity of high-performance devices. The company’s products control internal atmospheres in hermetic or semi-hermetic packages, mitigating the negative effects of moisture, hydrogen, and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) on sensitive components. SAES products are used in a variety of applications, including laser diodes, MEMS sensors, and optical switches.

  • ZeDry Family: A line of reversible getters that selectively adsorb moisture, hydrogen, and VOCs. These solventless, thermally cured coatings are compatible with standard packaging processes and are often deposited on metallic lids.

Applications: ZeDry is used in optical transceivers, laser modules, MEMS devices, and medical implants where stability and miniaturization are essential.

  • PAGE Getter Family: These thin-film getters are deposited via physical vapor deposition (PVD) and are ideal for MEMS-scale devices due to their small footprint and low activation temperatures.

PAGE Wafer: Getter patterns are directly deposited onto cap wafers.

PAGE Lid: Getter functionality is combined with almost any lid type for discrete packaging.

Applications: PAGE products are effective in IR sensors, inertial sensors, and timing devices where gas purity and space are critical.

  • Porous Getters: Based on specialty metal alloys, these getters come in various sizes and shapes, including pills, strips, and porous structures with heaters.

Activation: They are thermally activated to sorb a broad range of reactive gases.

Applications: These are used in demanding applications such as cooled IR sensors, X-ray tubes, and cryogenic systems.

SAES is committed to innovation, with getter technologies evolving through a global network of partnerships with research centers, universities, and high-tech companies.
