Marina Photonics supplies Affordable, Gigahertz, multiple-channel Time-Correlated photon counters and accessories with no lost photons, no dead time, and streaming continuous 400 Megabyte/secod to computer storeage. The PV16 variable gain amplifier discriminator interfaces to Gigahertz detectors such as the Hamamatsu Hybrid photomultiplier with 300 microvolt sensitivity at 1 Gigahertz. The PV16 can accept pulses from electron amplifier PMTs, solid state detectors, or with built-in bias, PIN diode output. Hybrid detector power supplies, software, inverting/non-inverting transforme and accessories are available.
The PCOUNT G is a continuous or GATED l photon counter that places photons into time-correlated bins with the ability gate photon count windows. One channel of 625 picosecond bins at 1.6 GHz is available as well as two channels of 1.25 ns bins at 800 MHz count rate. There are no lost photons or dead time within the count rates, and data is continuously streamed up to the limit of computer disk storage through USB 3 at 400 Megabytes/second. The photon gate has been tested to 1 GHz and 1.25ns width to infinite width. So gate repetitions of 200 MHz are possible as well as gate widths of 6.25ns.
Data is automatically stored on disk with a stand-alone photonlogger program that selects the filename, data size, trigger mode, number of channels to collect, and USB3 functions so that the data may be analyzed by any user chosen program. The normal program to set up and analyze data is written in IDL which passes all the parameters to the photonlogger program and allows full system control and plotting of photon counts. The PCOUNT G comes in various configurations and outputs for less than $5,000 complete which is AFFORDABLE.
The new PCOUNT G can accept TTL pulses as well as the output of the Marina Photonics PV16 interface to the GHz Hamamatsu hybrid photomultiplier tube family. All inputs are edge triggered adjustable levels for maximum compatibility to sensors.
The PCOUNT G front panel has manual switches for trigger, reset, clock gating, as well as software control. The rear panel has outputs to show the state of the unit.
