Announcement

AR|VR|MR Focus magazine is now the official magazine for the SPIE AR|VR|MR conference and exhibition taking place in San Francisco, 30th January – 1st February 2023.

You can find out more about the SPIE AR|VR|MR show here.

AR|VR|MR magazine is the new publication from the team that brings you optics.org, VISION Focus magazine and the Photonics West show daily.

With a focus on the optical technologies that enable advances in AR|VR|MR applications, AR|VR|MR Focus is leading the way with exclusive business news, market trends and product applications. Published by SPIE (the international society for optics and photonics) and the official media partner for the AR|VR|MR conference we’ll put your company in front of some of the leading players in this rapidly expanding industry. (Amazon, Facebook, Google to name but a few.)

From automotive to medical applications the potential for the AR|VR|MR applications is enormous and we’ll make sure that you’re hitting the right people at exactly the right time.

Contact the team to include your latest PR or product announcement in advance of this key XR and application driven event. AR|VR|MR Focus will also be actively promoted via optics.org, the optics.org weekly eNewsletter (sent to over 20,000 opt-in subscribers), promoted via social media groups (LinkedIn and twitter).

Autumn 2023

Summer
As shown on this issue’s cover, Leadoptik, a Silicon Valley startup working to develop an optical probe for early-stage diagnosis of lung cancer, has raised $5 million in a round of seed funding. The new cash is expected to enable the company to gain US Food & Drug Administration approval for its technology, which is based around metamaterial optics. The novel technology supports an ultra-thin imaging probe much smaller than a conventional bronchoscope, and capable of accessing the tiniest airways in the lung. Highlights in the Summer issue include:
  • Mojo Vision announces smart glasses partnership with DigiLens
  • Leadoptik lands $5M to develop ultra-thin lung cancer imaging probe
  • Teledyne announces AI enhancements to its image processing software
  • IQE, Mojo Vision advance RGB and blue micro-LED development
  • Metalens startup Imagia raises $4.5M
  • Ultrahigh-density holographic projection offers better 3D images
  • NASA’s Autonomous Aircraft Decision technology takes simulated urban flight test
  • Harvard SEAS develops new way to create holograms
  • Embedded systems: a future with AI and sustainability
  • Augmenting reality through lithography
  • Omnivision launches LCOS panel for smart glasses
  • University of London to open UK’s largest AR/VR design learning center
