France Television selects FORE Systems, NEC to build ATM networks

FORE Systems, Inc., and NCR will be building one of the world's largest Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) networks for the new headquarters office of France Television. France Television's move into new headquarters includes installation of a new network to meet its present and future predicted needs and the proposals were selected from FORE Systems to supply the networking hardware and software and NCR to be the network's systems integrator. Deployment of the network, which will continue through April, will include over 3,000 user workstations, nearly 300 ATM switches, six MPOA route servers, and an administration system for each of France Television's three companies.
