Algal proteins harvest light with efficiency
Atomic resolution structural model (from X-ray crystallography) of one the proteins from the study, the phycocyanin PC645 isolated from the cyptophyte alga Chroomonas CCMP270. Electronic interactions among the light-harvesting molecules within the protein scaffold cause light to be captured and manipulated in quantum-coherent states.
