A number of entity codes are available for characters you may not be able to access on your keyboard (e.g. the Euro symbol € may be absent on older and non-European keyboards), or characters that are normally reserved in HTML (e.g. the < and > symbols, used in HTML tags).
The following list is not intended to be exhaustive. In some cases, a few of the symbols may not be visible in all fonts or browsers.
We recommend that the following entity codes are always used in place of the characters themselves, to avoid confusion with markup or other entity codes:
