Feld and colleagues produced a 3D image of a “HeLa” cell with a transverse resolution of 0.5 µm and a longitudinal resolution of 0.75 µm. The nucleus is coloured in green, surrounded by cytoplasm coloured in red. The upper hemisphere of the cell’s membrane has been made transparent to make the insides visible.
