Princeton Instruments Improves NIRvana® SWIR Camera Performance!

09 Aug 2018

Princeton Instruments, the leading developer and manufacturer of advanced scientific CCD, sCMOS and InGaAs cameras, is pleased to announce a significant improvement in the performance of its popular NIRvana:640 short-wave infrared (SWIR) cameras.

To meet even the most demanding requirements of scientific research, Princeton Instruments NIRvana:640 cameras are now capable of delivering 40% lower read noise and 10% lower dark current.

“Researchers will directly benefit from these improvements which address the most critical requirements for quantitative measurements in low-light-level NIR/SWIR imaging and spectroscopy applications,” comments Michael Melle, imaging product manager at Princeton Instruments. “NIRvana InGaAs cameras are already the reference standard for SWIR applications. They have contributed to exciting scientific breakthroughs in whole animal imaging, quantum dot research, astronomical imaging, and infrared spectroscopy. These latest improvements further extend low light capabilities of these cameras and enable even more challenging applications.”

All NIRvana cameras continue to be supported by Princeton Instruments’ renowned 64-bit LightField® imaging and spectroscopy software, available as a system option. LightField provides hundreds of user enhancements, including a powerful built-in math engine to perform live data analysis. LightField also supports LabVIEW®, MATLAB®, and Python scripting for easy integration into complex experiments.

The improved NIRvana:640 cameras are available now. Please contact Princeton Instruments or your local representative to learn more.
