Photonic Professional GT: 3D Printer for Nano- and Microfabrication

24 Jan 2018

Nanoscribe is market- and technology leader for 3D printers on the nano-, micro-, and mesoscale. The award-winning Photonic Professional GT systems enable additive manufacturing and maskless lithography in one device. Based on two-photon polymerization (2PP), these devices offer the highest resolution known in 3D fabrication including submicron feature sizes, and optical quality surface finishes. When common additive manufacturing technologies like stereolithography reach their limitations, these 3D printers reveal their full potential, providing a 100x higher resolution and smaller features sizes.

The additive and tool-free fabrication process overcomes limitations imposed by mechanical tools, and geometrical or process design-constraints often encountered with techniques such as subtractive machining, (greyscale) lithography, photoresist reflow and wet-etching. This makes it an indispensable tool for scientific as well as industrial customers. In combination with a powerful, user-friendly software package, the systems are best embedded along the 3D-printing workflow and offer highest degree of automation. They enable both additive and subtractive manufacturing of photosensitive polymers. Nanoscribe’s solution based approach is extended by a portfolio of tailor-made resins and processes for Photonic Professional GT customers. Subsequent processes, such as electroplating and single or double inversion using ALD and CVD, allow the transfer of polymer templates into different materials (e.g., nickel, gold, titanium dioxide, and silicon).

Nanoscribe systems are drivers of innovation for numerous key technologies. Due to the immense resolution and the design freedom, users in more than 30 countries overcome prevailing technological barriers and serve a broad spectrum of applications in science and in pioneering industrial markets, e.g., in photonics, micro-optics, plasmonics, micro-fluidics, MEMS, biomimetics and microrobotics.
