14 Feb 2006 ARIEL Technologies Inc. fiber-coupled pulse isolator, reaches a peak power exceeding .5 KW, three orders of magnitude greater than conventional fiber-optic components on the market today. ATIs breakthrough products provide solutions to long-term industry problems
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, FEBRUARY 8, 2006 ARIEL Technologies Inc. (ATI) is supplying industry-leading fiber laser integrators with components never before seen in the non-telecom laser photonics industry. ATIs fiber-coupled pulse isolator, reaches a peak power exceeding .5 KW, three orders of magnitude greater than conventional fiber-optic components on the market today.
ATIs High-Power Eyesafe Pulse Isolator was field tested as a protective component of the award-winning Israeli Laser Radar (LADAR) system based on an eye-safe fiber laser. LADAR won first place at the 46th Annual Paris Airshow, Le Bourget, in June 2005.
The system developers selected ATIs Eyesafe Pulse Isolator because they needed a high-powered component that would provide long-term reliability, ensuring the safety of the LADAR system users, says Alon Ashkenazi, COO of API, ATIs Israel-based development center.
The pulse isolator reaches a peak power of more than .5 KW, three orders of magnitude greater than the standard 500 milliWatt isolators available on the market today. Field test results demonstrate a power level above 600 W. In addition, the isolators can withstand an impact of millions of pulses without degradations. Laser output is to a single mode fiber, in a compact package size.
