Edinburgh Instruments to attend Photonics Day in Switzerland

Date Announced: 08 Nov 2016

Edinburgh Instruments will be attending the "Photonics Day" at the Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne (EPFL) in Switzerland. Hosted by the Doctoral Programme in Photonics, the event will take place at the Forum Rolex Learning Center on Friday 11th November.

Dr Georgios Arnaoutakis, a member of EI's Applications team, will be giving a talk at 10.55am based around “Applications of Lasers in Photoluminescence Spectroscopy.”

The event will bring the entire EPFL photonics community together and provides an opportunity to gain an insight into the latest research and innovations there. At the event, EI will be available to discuss its latest fluorescence spectrometers and other parties' research needs.

EI is located in purpose built facilities just outside Edinburgh, Scotland, where it employs more than 75 people. The company is involved in the development, manufacture and sale of a wide range of high technology products. Product ranges include lasers, analytical spectrometers and accessories supplied by the Photonics Division and gas detection and monitoring products supplied by the Sensors Division.

EI has an extensive global distribution network and has a highly-prized reputation for the delivery of high quality, accurate instrumentation together with one to one customer service support.

Formed in 1971, Edinburgh Instruments was the first spin-out from Heriot-Watt University and the first private company on Britain's earliest University "Research Park”. In February 2013 EI was acquired by Techcomp (Europe) Ltd.
