TRUMPF Inc. welcomes Hoecklin, promotes Doar

Peter Hoecklin takes over at the helm of Trumpf's US subsidiary.

FARMINGTON, Conn., July 2, 2014 – Effective July 1, 2014, Mr. Peter Hoecklin has assumed the role of president and CEO of TRUMPF Inc. In this position he is responsible for all TRUMPF Inc.’s subsidiaries and business operations in North America, including manufacturing, engineering, research and development, customer service, technical training, product sales, and applications.

He succeeds Dr. Lars Gruenert, who held the role in interim for the last year. Dr. Gruenert will continue in his position as a member of the managing board of the TRUMPF Group, as well as the executive vice president and newly appointed CFO of TRUMPF GmbH + Co. KG.

Mr. Hoecklin earned his MBA, a Master of Engineering and a Bachelor of Science, Applied & Engineering Physics, at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. Prior to TRUMPF, he worked for McKinsey + Co. and Emerson Electric Co. in a variety of functions both in the U.S. and Europe. Mr. Hoecklin joined TRUMPF in 2003 as director of purchasing in Ditzingen, Germany. He has since served the company in Germany and Asia, most recently as president and managing director of TRUMPF (China) Co., Ltd.

TRUMPF Inc. has also announced the promotion of Mr. Burke Doar to senior vice president. Mr. Doar joined TRUMPF Inc. in 2002 as vice president of customer services and was promoted to vice president, sales and marketing in 2003. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Princeton University and received a law degree from Albany Law School. Mr. Doar also serves as the immediate past chairman of the Fabricators & Manufacturers Association (FMA).
