Asteriod hunter: NEOSSat
Canadian Space Agency (CSA) technologists Perry McCartney and Eric Bottriel prepare NEOSSat for entry into the large thermal vacuum chamber in CSA's David Florida Lab test facility at Shirleys Bay campus, Ottawa, Ontario. Thermal vacuum testing simulates the extreme hot and cold of the space environment. NEOSSat is a dual-mission microsatellite designed to detect potentially hazardous Earth-orbit-crossing asteroids and track objects that reside in deep space. It is also the first implementation of Canada's generic multi-mission microsatellite bus. Credit: Janice Lang, DRDC.
