BIMO-FSC head addresses market for 1µm laser-based flat sheet cutting; company opens service centre in China.II-VI, a developer of laser materials processing solutions, has introduced the latest release of its BIMO-FSC laser cutting head rated to deliver 15 kW of laser power.
The BIMO-FSC laser cutting head is designed for the rapidly growing market for 1 µm laser-based flat sheet cutting. This laser cutting head is now supplied with significantly improved processing capabilities, enabling what II-VI calls “the highest cut quality in the shortest time.”
The advanced operation of the BIMO-FSC can be demonstrated at any of II-VI’s global applications labs where custom processes can be developed to customer requirements. The company is this week showcasing its broad portfolio of products at Laser World of Photonics China, in Shanghai, China, between March 20-22 (on booth W3.3430).
II-VI Inc has simultaneously announced the opening of a service center for laser processing heads for cutting and welding in Suzhou, China. The service center is fully equipped with clean rooms, maintains a large stock of spare parts and is supported by a dedicated staff of laser processing head specialists and service technicians.
Dr. Robert Kuba, Managing Director, II-VI HIGHYAG, explained, “Specifically, it’s the ability of the BIMO-FSC to handle 15 kW through its zoom optics that enables it to exceed the industry’s combined requirements of cutting speed and quality.”
The BIMO-FSC features a zoom optics system capable of independently adjusting the focal diameter and focal length over extended ranges in milliseconds. The integrated sensor system enables a superior level of embedded intelligence that achieves maximum materials processing precision and provides just-in-time service alerts.
New Service Center in Suzhou
“We are committed to providing our customers in China the highest quality of service, including strong technical support in the Chinese language and rapid turnaround time for spare parts,” said Dr Kuba.
“With our service center in Suzhou, our customers across China can rest assured that they have access to a team of specialists dedicated to keeping their production lines running smoothly.” II-VI’s range for laser-based materials processing includes laser processing heads, laser light cables, laser opticsand direct diode laser engines.
