Specialised Imaging Ltd. has announced a new technological innovation for its SIR2 camera that enables researchers to accurately record and analyse projectiles with unpredictable velocities.
Traditionally recording images of high-speed projectiles with unpredictable velocity has been very unreliable. Using the input from two separate sensors, a measured distance apart, fed into the two inputs of the SIR2 camera - the new proprietary SureShot real-time hardware is able to capture unpredictable high-speed projectiles mid frame - first time, every time. This advance in trigger reliability also enables researchers to narrow the field-of-view of the camera, thereby increasing the achievable resolution of results.
