With the LC LMD series LASER COMPONENTS introduces the smallest modules in the world (diameter 3.3 mm, length 7 mm), containing the laser diode, drive electronics, and optics all in a metal housing.
These new low cost laser modules target the OEM market and can be operated directly with 3 VDC without additional electronics. In total, dot lasers with a collimated or focusable beam at 635 nm and 650 nm are available for selection in twelve different kinds of housings. Line lasers are also available. LC LMD modules are the right choice if you are looking for an easy and inexpensive solution in large quantities.
Typical applications for these laser diode modules in consumer products, such as in hardware store equipment and household appliances, include use as target and alignment aids, e.g. in sewing machines, and as emitters in light barriers or optical sensors. They are designed for use where very little space is available and cost is a deciding factor when purchasing a product.
